I'm blessed

Today I got to thinking about how I had a nice childhood. We always went on little excursions, outings and vacations. My mother doesn't fly on planes, so we would drive everywhere. I wasn't the luckiest of the lucky who got to experience life overseas, but I had fun going the places we went.

We would go to the same places. . . Red River, Ruidoso, Port Aransas, Disney World. . . then when we got older we would go to Vegas regularly. We'd go shopping in Austin and Dallas and stay overnight at Salado and play in the creek.
I was thinking about some people around me and how I don't think they are able to go on vacations. I felt sorry for them and their children. They work too much or don't have the funds.
I came away feeling extremely BLESSED today.

I suppose I thought about traveling because I just got back from flying to Midland for a long weekend last week. I'm going to fly to Colorado next weekend. And, I've been asked if I'd like to live in Mexico for a year. Hell Yes! But, I need about $20,000 for that, so I don't think that is going to happen. Boo!

And ew. . . I think this look is just awful. Poor girl. I love colorful clothes and I'm kindof attracted to a masculine dressed female, but this ain't rockin.

Making a Luffa

Look what's inside these gourds when you peel back the dried skin. . . a luffa. Or loofah, as I like to say. You dry these out, when you shake them they will sound like a rattle. . . and then they are ready to peel and be cut into loofahs. Pretty Cool.

Today I wore. . .

I mixed prints. Floral (dress) with zebra (flats)

I braided both sides of my hair and put into a ballerina ball.

Today's outfit

I brought this dress out of the bottom of a moving box I haven't unpacked in a year. I wore my pink booties to keep my feet clean from the wet weather. 
I'm making an effort to wear things other than my weekly favorites I wear all the time.

Notice I'm wearing Pink and Gray. I will make a blog about how much I love pink and gray together soon.

I'm also working on accessorizing more or putting more color in my makeup. My sister asked me if I even wear makeup. . . and when I told her yes. . . she said I need more blush and color to my lips. I've been wearing red lips the past two days. I'm also starting to play with my hair a bit more, rather than wearing it in the same pony tail every day. It's still mostly back, but I'll put some clips or some braids throughout.

My vintage dress- 50's housewife am I?

Yesterday, I decided to wear one of my vintage dresses to work. Lots of people complimented me. My boss called me June Cleaver. I was just praying no one would tell me to gather Scarecrow and Tin Man and follow the yellow brick road.
