My $4 table refinished

I bought this mid-century looking table for $4 at goodwill. It was painted black and the paint chipped off all the time. I finally got around to refinishing it. Considering it had some chips in the wood and I mainly worked at night on my porch. . . I'm happy with the end product.

In the middle of sanding it.

Got on my dykey work gear.

I chose a stain called Kona. It is very dark brown. And it reminded me of Kona, Hawaii.

See the part I filled with wood filler? I can't figure out how to get wood filler to blend in very well.

Hodessa

I took a nice little visit to Midland to visit my sister, her husband and her three-year-old twins. I do NOT recommend going to the Odessa Mall. The only two name brands stores there are Dillards and Express. Everything else is a knock off store with names like M-Lo (like J-Lo I suppose) with hoochie-mama clothes.  Just look at this manikin's pose! Yeesh!
The entire mall is carpeted. What well traveled floor is carpeted? But, there is a merry-go-round and a play area for kids.
I know why friends have told me it is called "Ho-dessa."

Newest Edition to mi familia

Meet Mr. Dusty. I rescued him from the watermelon shed the next town over. He was dusty when I found him, plus he's gray, and my grandfather's nickname was Dusty. Therefore, with all three wrapped in one. . . I think Dusty is a perfect name.
Pardon the litter between his toes.

Precious 'lil model

This is the first time I've ever seen this model. I think she's both cute and sexy in her pictures. She wears the clothes well. She's got a defined nose and such long, lean legs.

My new crush: Ruthie Foster

I just heard about her today. . . she's playing a concert nearby. She's a blues/gospel/kinda folkey artist. Went to school in my hometown. She did date a woman. I think she was married to a man. She's a lot older than I, but she still caught my eye. You know what catches my eye: a great smile. Look at that great, genuine smile of hers. She's happy. She's talented. She's passionate. She's successful. She's cute. . . feminine and masculin at same time. O yeah.

Dissociation and Disengagement

My favorite painting from the local cultural museum.
Amnesiotic. . . No, not I.
Where is my psyche?
Pop, boom, bam. . . Scram!
It's all disrupted.
Ruptured and torn
and twisting inside.
Trauma and stress,
no substances has he.
Depersonalization,
it's not a vertigo shot
nor the dolly zoom.
The broken images of light
dance before my eyes.
Weakness in the mentalitiy
not the functionality.
Now what is your capacity?
Contain it, don't spew it.
Words didn't flow out of your mouth
like they were flowing to a paper cup.
They were endless
and they smacked right into the wall.
You hit that wall.
Glazing over. Tuning it out.
Wrinkles form across my forehead.
I'm in another place.
Where am I?
Where is my reality?
Sit and frown,
now here comes the depersonalization.
Where has our self awareness gone?
You're a lady and I'm supposed to be a man.
You think you suffer
and lack significance?
Bi, bi-polar, bi-sexual,
bi-assed, bi-cycle, bye bye.
The inappropriateness of the pledge.
Dis, it has all been undone.
Jai guru deva, om.
Something is gonna change my world.

Don't Forget It

This is my new ring. A replacement. I like it. It makes me remember. I won't forget.
